Our safety and yours.
At Powerhouse the safety of our staff and your workplace environment is of the utmost concern to us. We regularly conduct OSHA training classes at our facility to keep our employees alert to industry safety proceedures. Wether it be confined space entry training or traffic control procedures our staff is prepared to work at your facility safely. In addition we are always prepared with the correct personal protection equipment, for example safety vests, harnesses, life jackets, hard hats, gloves, traffic cones, barricades, caution tape and safety glasses when appropriate.
Our vehicles and equipment are also properly maintained and meet all DOT requirements for safety. This ensures when on your site your liability as at the minimum.

Required training for employees
New hire and annual safety refresher orientations:
Safety Orientation provides a unique opportunity to make a positive statement about our company’s value in our employees. It also provides our new employees with the skills and knowledge that they need to be successful in safe production.
OSHA 10 Hour Construction:
OSHA 10 Hour Construction Training is designed specifically for construction workers and supervisors responsible for construction activities. This course covers topics such as fall protection, excavation protection, and ladder safety.
OSHA 30 Hour Construction for Supervisors and Managers:
OSHA 30 Hour Construction Training is a comprehensive thirty hour course that covers a wide variety of topics, including confined space entry, scaffold protection, electrical safety, and materials handling.
OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER and 8 Hour annual refresher:
In compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 regulations, the 40 hour HAZWOPER training is required for individuals who work in an area that is defined as a HAZWOPER Work Site. Upon successful completion of the course, employees receive a certificate of completion accepted by regulatory agencies. As a requirement of completing the 40 Hour training, all employees must receive 8 hours of refresher training annually.

This program is designed to implement safe procedures for working on, in or around cranes and rigging systems.
Electrical Safety 29 CFR 1926.400 and 29 CFR 1910.1477
This program is created to protect our employees from the hazard associated with electricity. Safeguards against electrical hazards include an assured grounding, lock out/tag out procedures and general requirements for work involving any type of electricity or electrical hand tool.
Excavation 29 CFR 1926.650-652
This program is focused on establishing guidelines for jobs requiring excavation operations. The precautions necessary for a safe excavation must be considered in the planning process and continually monitored during the actual operation. Powerhouse Paving takes all precautions necessary to protect our employees, the general public, and the environment.
Prohibited use of Electronic Devices
Many preventable incidents, which occur in construction work zones, are caused by driver / operator / worker distractions. All Powerhouse Paving employees are strictly prohibited from text messaging or using cell phones, IPods, earphones, or any other electronic device while operating a piece of machinery/equipment, which have been known to cause distractions.
